Week 1

I finally came to the realization that trying to lose weight is hard work but can be done. My best friend conquered her struggles with weight and she is my inspiration. My goal is to lose 2 pounds a week after the first week. Since I am a planner, I have decided to make a workout plan to attempt to stick to. If my schedule ends up conflicting I can always alter it later.

Monday - 1 hour of cardio
20 minutes of core exercise
Tuesday - 1 hour of cardio
30 minutes of weight training (upper body)
Wednesday - 1 hour of cardio
20 minutes of core exercise
Thursday - 1 hour of cardio
30 minutes of weight training (lower Body)
Friday - 1 hour of cardio
20 minutes of core exercise
Saturday - 1.5 hours of cardio
Sunday 1.5 hours of cardio

While I realize that this seems like a lot of exercise, I think it is quite achievable. The weekend time will be spent through a combination of gym time and walking through my neighborhood. The weekdays will be at the gym directly after I get out of work. Because my worst time of eating is as soon as I get home, I decided to work out during that time. This way when I do get home all I want is healthy food and the correct portions.

As for eating, I am a new vegetarian. I stopped eating meat this past December. My only struggle is with coming up with new recipe ideas but overall it has really made me more open to trying new vegatables. My goal is to eat 3 regular meals and one afternoon snack before the gym. My calorie intake will be 1800 calories a day. Since losing one pound of weight is 3500 this should allow me to lose my stable 1-2 pounds per week. If not then I will readjust the eating and workout regime. I just want to make sure that I don't eat too much or too little.

Tomorrow is the first day of my change. Wish me luck!!
